Is the cottage child friendly?

Yes, for babies & toddlers we have a stair-gate, a high-chair, travel-cot and baby bath available.  For older children we have a selection of board-games, swing-ball & boule sets, and a selection of children's DVD's.  We have very little passing traffic however, the garden is fully enclosed and gated so safe for children to play. 

Is the cottage dog friendly?

Yes, we welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs.  The garden is fully enclosed and gated so safe for dogs to run around in.  We have several books and suggestions for local off-lead dog walks and restaurants and attractions in the region are generally very dog friendly.

Do I need a car?

Le Bousquet is in a rural location so a car is recommended.  The roads in the Dordogne are generally very quiet, of a good standard, easy to navigate and free from tolls. 

Do you provide bed linen & towels?

We provide100% Egyptian cotton bed linen and hand and bath towels as standard.   In addition we also provide pool towels and can provide linen for the travel-cot on request.  We do not provide beach towels so you will need to pack these if required. 

How easy is the cottage to access from the UK?

There are many options for flights and several options for channel crossings but our closest airport is Brive-Souillac, a 40 minute drive from the cottage.  Please take a look at our "Getting here" page for other options.

How close is the nearest town/amenities?

The nearest town is Meyssac 10km (13 mins) from the cottage.  Here you will find banks, bakers, grocers, butchers, post office, pharmacy, fuel stations, vet etc.  There are over a dozen restaurants within 20 minutes of the cottage, offering a variety of options from fast-food and pizza to fine-dining.

How close is the Dordogne River?

The Dordogne River can be accessed at Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne around 16km (18 mins) south of the cottageHere you can rent canoes and kayaks and travel up the river to Argentat.  In Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne you can also hire mountain bikes and explore the beautiful landscapes of the Dordogne valley .

Are there doctors/dentists nearby?

Yes, there are doctors and dentists located 10km from the cottage in Meyssac (13mins) away.

Where can I get provisions if I arrive in the evening?

Our local town of Meyssac has an excellent well stocked Super U Express which is open 8:30am-7:30pm Mon-Sat and 8:30am-1pm Sun
